Supply Chain & Stock Engineer

About the role

The Supply Chain & Stock Engineer is responsible for planning, managing and optimizing supply chain and inventory operations to ensure the timely availability of materials, spare parts and equipment while maintaining optimal stock levels and cost efficiency. Reporting to the Supply Chain & Procurement Manager, the role bridges engineering requirements with procurement execution.

Key responsibilities

• Execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to align stock availability with heavy maintenance and operational schedules.
• Analyze consumption trends and historical data to lead demand forecasting in coordination with engineering and operations teams.
• Monitor inventory health metrics and implement corrective actions to minimise excess, obsolete and slow‑moving items.
• Coordinate with procurement and vendor management to source and deliver critical spare parts and equipment on time.
• Support technical tendering by providing data‑driven inputs on material specifications and safety stock levels.
• Manage requisition processes within IBM Maximo CMMS, ensuring technical and financial validation of purchase requests.
• Oversee warehouse compliance, material handling, storage safety and environmental regulations.
• Utilise ERP and CMMS platforms to maintain accurate inventory data and develop automated KPIs and visual dashboards.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to digitise manual workflows and enhance inventory visibility.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in demand planning and inventory optimisation.
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering, operations and procurement stakeholders.
• Familiarity with supply‑chain risk mitigation and stock‑out prevention strategies.
• Experience in managing warehouse processes and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Commitment to process excellence, digitalisation and adherence to governance frameworks.
