System Engineer (Transmission)

About the role

Elsewedy Digital is seeking a System Engineer specialized in transmission to lead end‑to‑end delivery of optical network projects. The role involves design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of DWDM/OTN infrastructures while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery including installation, commissioning, acceptance, and performance optimisation.
• Perform network performance analysis, optimisation, and migration/swap activities for optical networks.
• Handle NMS/O&M operations, alarm management, and support for Radio, Network, Transmission, and ELV systems.
• Design telecommunications systems that meet project specifications and client standards.
• Select appropriate materials and vendors to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Prepare detailed engineering documents, purchase requests, and maintain accurate project filing and version control.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and clients, and attend project meetings.
• Travel globally for Pre‑FAT, FAT, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, Pre‑SAT, and SAT activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in DWDM/OTN transmission networks.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• CCNA and HCIA certifications are mandatory.
