Teaching Assistant

About the role

CADMUS International School in Alburouj, Cairo, is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support teachers inside and outside the classroom. The role helps students understand and complete their assignments while keeping the environment safe, productive and clean. It is listed under the Administration department.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the class schedule with the teacher and keep a record of children's attendance, passing attendance forms to and from the office.
• Handle class displays, games and visual materials such as bulletin boards, according to the teacher's directions.
• Reinforce class and school rules and students' behaviour.
• Document student progress and communicate with the Academic Quality Controller when needed; file notes in reading folders and check them each morning.
• Keep the classroom safe and clean, and support the teacher during lessons by keeping children focused.
• Help correct children's work and prepare, supervise and clean up after snack or lunch times.
• Teach proper hygiene manners and help children change clothes if needed; supervise outdoor play, nap or quiet time and morning care.
• Read students' word cards, prepare and clean up after art classes, and help with school events, trips and activities.
• Carry out other related tasks as they arise and as delegated by the School Management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject matter and/or equivalent.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behaviour and ethical conduct.
• Delivers results, shows continuous improvement, takes accountability and owns outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Meets employment requirements, including education and certification requirements, and passes criminal background and reference checks and any required skills tests.
