Technical and Engineering Director

About the role

The Technical & Engineering Director provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for all engineering functions across multiple complex construction projects, from concept to completion. This senior role ensures engineering excellence, design quality, innovation, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with codes, standards, and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement engineering strategies, standards, policies, and best practices.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering collaboration and high‑performance delivery.
• Direct design management, technical office, engineering coordination, and value‑engineering activities.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, shop drawings, and construction methodologies.
• Ensure solutions meet contractual, regulatory, and international engineering standards.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities to resolve technical issues.
• Lead value‑engineering workshops to optimise cost, constructability, quality and performance.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support pre‑construction, tendering and business development with technical expertise.
• Drive innovation through BIM, digital engineering tools and advanced construction technologies.
• Monitor technical KPIs, resource utilisation and project progress.
• Mentor engineering professionals and promote a culture of quality, safety and sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 20 years of engineering and construction experience, including at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale building, infrastructure, hospitality, commercial, residential, industrial or mixed‑use projects.
• Strong expertise in design management, technical office operations, engineering coordination, value engineering and construction methodologies.
• Extensive knowledge of international engineering codes, standards and regulations.
• Experience thriving in fast‑paced, multi‑project environments.
