Travel Consultant (Aviation)

About the role

The Travel Consultant (Aviation) is responsible for selling a wide range of travel products and services, including airline tickets, visas, transportation, and hotel bookings. The role requires understanding customer needs, providing accurate travel information, and delivering a positive travel experience while meeting sales targets and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Handle customer inquiries via phone and email, ensuring professional etiquette and timely responses.
• Gather and analyse travel requirements for walk‑in and corporate clients, offering suitable flight options, schedules, fares, and ancillary services.
• Prepare and send quotations with corporate rates, terms, and conditions, and process reservations, ticket issuance, and holiday packages.
• Monitor and manage GDS queues daily to maintain quality control and timely service delivery.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including the holidays team, to fulfil leisure and business travel requests.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of airline rules, regulations, and industry developments.
• Build and sustain relationships with corporate customers and airline representatives to support business growth.
• Submit daily sales reports and related documents through the TRAACS system.
• Document and follow up on credit sales, attaching required proofs such as LPOs and official letters.
• Report customer feedback, complaints, and appreciations to supervisors for appropriate action.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in travel sales, corporate travel consulting, or aviation ticketing.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle both walk‑in and corporate clients.
• Detail‑oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
• Experience using the TRAACS reservation and reporting platform.
• Knowledge of airline regulations, visa requirements, and travel documentation.
