Truck Mounted Crane Operator

About the role

The Heavy Crane Truck Operator will safely operate an Iveco T‑Way 8x8 crane truck at the Sukari gold mine in Marsa Alam, Egypt. This permanent, full‑time position involves handling high‑capacity, remote‑controlled hydraulic cranes in challenging open‑pit terrain, executing lifts up to 22 tonnes and transporting oversized loads across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strict compliance with the FX900/FX901 safety system and never bypass the Electronic Lift Moment Limiter.
• Establish a 360° safety barrier around the lifting zone and enforce line‑of‑fire protection.
• Verify load weights against the Automatic Dynamic Control system to control lifting moments.
• Position the crane on stable ground using heavy‑duty pads and outriggers.
• Operate the crane remotely via RCH/RCS radio control while maintaining line‑of‑sight.
• Secure all cargo with twist‑locks or rated lashing for transport on steep pit inclines.
• Perform planned and emergency maintenance lifts as directed by the Superintendent.
• Complete daily pre‑start inspections and log vehicle movements.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating heavy‑capacity crane trucks in mining or similar environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and system integrity.
• Ability to work independently on a 20/10 roster in remote on‑site conditions.
