Welder 2 – 3rd Shift

About the role

BlueScope Buildings is seeking a reliable Welder 2 to work the 3rd (night) shift, fabricating and repairing metal components for high‑quality building solutions. The position runs Sunday night through Friday morning (9:30 pm‑6:00 am) with occasional overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to select appropriate welding processes.
• Position, align, fit and weld parts to create complete units or sub‑units using jigs, torches and hand tools.
• Operate lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts to safely move materials.
• Perform inspections with measuring tools before, during and after production to ensure compliance with exact specifications.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement and corrective‑action activities.
• Maintain material inventory, conduct routine machine maintenance and support 5S housekeeping standards.
