Welder 2 – 3rd Shift (Night)

About the role

BlueScope Buildings is seeking a detail‑oriented Welder 2 to work the 3rd (night) shift, fabricating and repairing metal components for high‑quality building solutions. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, welding parts, and ensuring strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings or schematics to select appropriate welding processes.
• Position, align, fit and weld parts to create complete units or sub‑units using jigs, welding torches and hand tools.
• Safely operate lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts to move materials.
• Perform inspections with measuring tools before, during and after production to verify specifications.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement and corrective‑action activities.
• Maintain material inventory, conduct machine maintenance and support 5S housekeeping standards.
