Workshop Team Leader

About the role

The Workshop Team Leader is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of a technical workshop, ensuring customer orders and inquiries are processed efficiently while providing expert product knowledge. This role combines hands‑on technical support with team leadership to deliver high‑quality service to both internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Record and process custom or special orders, coordinating with delivery and production teams as needed.
• Provide advanced product and service information, answering complex technical questions.
• Perform fault isolation and resolution to address product issues promptly.
• Assign short‑term work schedules to team members and monitor progress against timelines.
• Handle basic issue escalations and obtain managerial approvals when required.
• Conduct simple testing and quality‑assurance tasks.
• Monitor team performance, allocate work, and take corrective actions to ensure timeliness and quality.
• Lead periodic check‑ins with non‑key customers to maximise product value.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field (preferred).
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in a technical or workshop environment.
• Proven leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to make decisions, solve problems and manage performance.
