Customs Specialist

About the role

The Customs Specialist at INTERLOG International Logistics will ensure smooth import and export operations by preparing accurate documentation and complying with customs regulations. Based in Cairo, this full‑time position works closely with customs authorities, freight forwarders and internal teams to facilitate timely cargo clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prepare import and export documentation to meet customs and trade law requirements.
• Coordinate with customs officials, freight forwarders and internal departments to resolve clearance issues.
• Classify goods, calculate duties and taxes, and track shipments through the logistics system.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and customs filings in company databases.
• Communicate status updates and requirements to customers, ensuring transparent cargo movement across borders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in customs brokerage and import/export processes.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, documentation standards and customs tariffs.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work on‑site in Cairo, manage multiple shipments and meet tight deadlines.
• Relevant logistics, freight forwarding or customs clearance experience; diploma or degree in logistics, business or related field is a plus.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
