Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Data Engineer to join our Data Management and AI team and help build scalable data platforms that power analytics and AI initiatives across our digital banking ecosystem. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior data engineer to grow in a fast‑paced fintech environment while working with modern data technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable batch and real‑time data pipelines, implementing ETL/ELT workflows from APIs, databases, and event streams.
• Build and maintain streaming pipelines using Kafka or similar platforms, ensuring low‑latency, reliable delivery.
• Create data enrichment and transformation processes across layered architectures (raw → bronze → silver → gold).
• Design, model, and optimise data warehouse schemas for analytical workloads.
• Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitor pipeline performance for reliability.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver production‑ready data solutions.

Required skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Understanding of computer systems, cloud environments, network protocols and system connectivity.
• Proficiency with Linux command line, SSH, SFTP, Bash, IP and ports.
• Experience developing and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, Kafka, NiFi or similar.
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of data‑warehousing concepts, schema design and data modelling.
• Programming experience in Python and scripting in Bash.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
