Data Science Team Leader

About the role

The Data Science Team Leader will drive the extraction of actionable insights from data and develop advanced analytics solutions that support strategic business decisions. This role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership of a high‑performing data science team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of Data Scientists, defining the roadmap, allocating resources and setting priorities aligned with business goals.
• Oversee the full data‑science lifecycle—from hypothesis formation to model delivery and insight communication.
• Guide the design and implementation of statistical models, machine‑learning algorithms and data experiments, ensuring methodological rigor and robust validation.
• Champion best practices in coding, documentation and reproducible research.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data‑driven opportunities and translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Partner with Data Engineering and AI/ML Engineering teams to operationalise models when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• At least 2 years of experience managing a team of Data Scientists.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
