Facility Projects Supervisor

About the role

The Facility Projects Supervisor is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of facility projects that support GM’s manufacturing strategy, safety, quality, and capacity goals. Reporting to the GM office full‑time, the role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while adhering to GM standards and the GM Manufacturing System.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end execution of new production areas, building modifications, layout changes, and infrastructure renewals.
• Translate business requirements from manufacturing, maintenance, EHS, and other stakeholders into clear project scopes and deliverables.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and risk assessments; monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, enforce cost control, and align with GM capital and expense guidelines.
• Coordinate technical studies, site surveys, feasibility assessments, and develop technical specifications, layouts, and drawings.
• Manage contractors and suppliers through RFQs, technical evaluations, kickoff meetings, daily coordination, and performance follow‑up.
• Ensure compliance with GM safety standards, environmental regulations, and local legal requirements, including method statements and permits.
• Supervise on‑site construction and installation activities, ensuring quality workmanship and minimal impact on production.
• Plan shutdowns and tie‑ins with production and maintenance teams to enable safe, efficient execution and rapid restart.
• Drive change management, scope adjustments, risk mitigation, and communication of impacts on schedule and cost.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, validation, and handover of new systems and modifications.
• Secure complete project documentation (as‑built drawings, manuals, warranties, asset data) for smooth transition to operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience managing facility or industrial construction projects.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage external contractors.
