Firmware Engineer

About the role

We are a high‑potential technology startup developing advanced embedded systems for robotics, motion control, sensing and autonomy. We are looking for a Firmware / Embedded Systems Engineer to create real‑time firmware for microcontroller‑based platforms such as STM32 Arm Cortex‑M and TI C2000.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware for STM32, TI C2000 or similar real‑time MCUs.
• Write low‑level drivers for sensors, actuators, encoders and communication interfaces.
• Implement real‑time control loops, sensor acquisition pipelines and motion‑control, navigation or imaging algorithms.
• Debug hardware and firmware issues in the lab and support PCB bring‑up.
• Create calibration, diagnostic routines, test procedures and validation reports.
• Document firmware architecture, APIs and participate in code reviews.
• Support prototype testing, integration and product validation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field.
• Demonstrated project work or strong potential in at least one domain: motion control, navigation/localisation, or imaging/sensing firmware.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced startup environment with high ownership.

Required skills

• C programming for embedded systems
• C++ (preferred)
• Bare‑metal and/or RTOS development
• Interrupt‑driven and timer‑driven design
• State machines, watchdogs, diagnostics and fault recovery
• Advanced PWM, timers, ADC and DAC
• Communication protocols: UART, SPI, QSPI, I2C, CAN/CAN FD, Ethernet, EtherCAT, USB
• Reading datasheets, schematics and hardware design notes
• Debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, serial logs, multimeters and lab power supplies
• Git‑based development workflow
• Python for testing or automation (a plus)
