Graduate Open Pit Mining Engineer

About the role

The Graduate Open Pit Mining Engineer will join the Sukari gold mine team in Marsa Alam, Egypt. Working on‑site, you will support the planning, scheduling and safe execution of surface mining operations, turning geological data into daily production results.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in short‑term mine planning, including daily/weekly scheduling, bench sequencing and pit design.
• Monitor pit activities, equipment utilisation (truck and shovel fleets) and contractor performance to meet production targets safely.
• Participate in drilling and blasting pattern design, tie‑in plan reviews and field QA/QC tracking.
• Compile daily production logs, track KPIs and prepare operational reports.
• Collaborate with geology, survey and drill‑and‑blast crews to ensure accurate execution of the mine plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 0‑2 years experience on an active surface/open‑pit mine or relevant internship.
• Familiarity with drilling, blasting and truck‑and‑shovel operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D mining software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac or Micromine).
• Ability to create pit designs, dump layouts and haul‑road paths.
• Experience building short‑term and medium‑term production schedules.
