About the role
Join the inaugural Morgans Originals hotel in Egypt as a Kitchen Commis. You will support senior chefs in delivering high‑quality dishes while maintaining a safe and organized kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and cooking ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Perform mise en place, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and arranging stations.
- Monitor freshness of ingredients, store them correctly, and rotate stock to minimise waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas and equipment.
- Support senior kitchen staff with plating, cooking, and timely service delivery.
- Help with inventory checks, report low stock, and assist in stock rotation.
- Perform general kitchen duties such as washing utensils, cleaning dishes, and keeping workstations tidy.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic about hospitality and eager to learn culinary techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistency.
- Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and health‑safety regulations.
- Team‑player who can adapt to rotating between stations (starters, mains, pastry).
Required skills
- Basic food preparation and knife handling.
- Understanding of mise en place principles.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
