Lead Electrical Maintenance & Operation Engineer

About the role

The Lead Electrical Maintenance & Operation Engineer will direct the maintenance and operations team to ensure uninterrupted power supply across all on‑site electrical systems. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency, minimizing downtime, enforcing safety standards, and optimizing operational costs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and evaluate engineers and technical staff, assigning daily tasks and improving productivity.
• Design and execute Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) programs for all electrical assets.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis for complex failures and drive rapid‑response troubleshooting.
• Oversee inspection, testing and operation of LV/MV systems, transformers, generators, MDBs/SMDBs and UPS systems.
• Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and codes.
• Approve spare‑part requests, control critical inventory and prevent maintenance delays.
• Analyze energy consumption data and implement engineering solutions to reduce power usage and costs.
• Supervise Low‑Current systems such as CCTV, fire alarm, access control and intercom.
• Enforce HSE standards and ensure adherence to local and international electrical codes.
• Develop emergency recovery plans and present KPI reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical operation and maintenance in large facilities or industrial sites.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong command of English; Arabic is a plus.
