Mechanical Design Senior Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Senior Engineer to lead the translation of engineering drawings into practical fabrication steps and ensure high‑quality assembly of heavy‑industry equipment in our workshop. The role combines technical oversight, hands‑on fabrication support, and post‑commissioning maintenance assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical, manufacturing, isometric drawings, equipment datasheets and technical specifications from consultants, suppliers and third‑party engineers.
• Convert external engineering drawings into feasible fabrication and assembly instructions aligned with local workshop capabilities.
• Supervise the fabrication and workshop assembly of furnace shells, steel structures, conveyor frames, tanks, platforms, piping parts and related equipment.
• Validate bills of materials and verify component compliance with technical requirements.
• Ensure cutting, bending, welding, machining, pre‑assembly and final assembly are performed per drawings, tolerances and quality standards.
• Document non‑conformities, revision needs and technical queries; coordinate resolutions with engineering teams or suppliers.
• Conduct as‑built checks and confirm equipment readiness for site installation.
• Provide technical support to the maintenance team after commissioning for troubleshooting and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical fabrication, workshop production, steel structures, piping or heavy‑industrial equipment assembly.
• Familiarity with equipment used in metallurgy, chemical plants, mining, energy, recycling or similar heavy‑industry sectors.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or comparable 3D viewing software.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office, Excel and Microsoft Project.
• Knowledge of mechanical tolerances, welded fabrication, dimensional control and fasteners.
