Mechanical Technical Office Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Technical Office Engineer to join our team in Maadi, Cairo. The role involves preparing and coordinating design documentation for HVAC, plumbing and fire‑fighting systems and supporting the project from tender through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate IFC and shop drawing packages for HVAC, plumbing and fire‑fighting systems.
• Develop calculation reports for these systems.
• Review specifications, evaluate material submittals and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Review design drawings to ensure compliance with project standards and requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, technical submittals and compliance reports.
• Conduct technical evaluations of mechanical components to ensure adherence to international codes and standards.
• Provide technical support to site teams and resolve design‑related issues during execution.
• Review and approve shop drawings, as‑built drawings and other contractor documents.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date project documentation, revisions and correspondence.
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical office or similar engineering role.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with international mechanical codes and standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
