MEL Manager

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Coptic Orphans' MEL function across all programmes in Egypt. Reporting to the International Programs Director, the role ensures that data‑driven evidence demonstrates the impact on children and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out a unified, organization‑wide MEL framework aligned with international standards and Coptic Orphans’ strategic objectives.
• Design theories of change, logframes and results frameworks for each programme, establishing a standard indicator system.
• Lead routine performance monitoring, create data‑collection tools, and manage data‑quality assurance processes.
• Produce timely dashboards and analytical reports using mobile data collection, automated visualisations and emerging analytics.
• Plan, commission and manage baseline, midline, end‑line and impact evaluations, including external evaluator contracts.
• Oversee qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups and participatory approaches.

Required profile

• Minimum eight years (96 months) of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning within the development sector.
• Proven ability to design and operationalise MEL systems from inception to a staffed unit.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
