About the role
The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Officer will lead the implementation of psychosocial activities for refugees and migrants in Aswan, Egypt. Reporting to the Project Manager, the officer ensures high‑quality group and individual counselling services and provides technical support to the MHPSS team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the delivery of MHPSS interventions, ensuring they meet Save the Children standards and donor requirements.
- Monitor the quality of psychosocial group activities and individual counselling, guaranteeing timely results.
- Provide regular supervision and remote support to psychologists and MHPSS facilitators, especially on complex cases.
- Deliver technical guidance to staff and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including hub coordinators, child protection officers, and operation staff.
- Ensure compliance with child safeguarding Level 3 requirements.
Required profile
- Proven experience supervising psychosocial project activities and teams.
- Familiarity with evidence‑based psychosocial intervention models, SOPs, and Save the Children programmes.
- Ability to work with vulnerable children, adolescents, and adults in humanitarian settings.
- Strong coordination skills with multiple programme units.
