Operation and Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Plant Operation and Maintenance Technician (N2H2) supports the day‑to‑day operation of the Nitrogen and SMR units at the Air Products Sadat facility. Reporting to the Plant Head, the role ensures reliable plant performance, safety compliance, and alignment with customer quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and apply all relevant EH&S regulations and Air Products safety processes, including emergency preparedness and incident management.
• Participate in safety meetings, report hazards, and use the Basic Safety Practice (BSP) system to eliminate risks.
• Provide on‑call security and safety support, liaising with the customer as needed.
• Maintain discipline, punctuality, and housekeeping standards; wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Support daily N2H2 plant operations, troubleshoot process issues, and contribute to plant projects.
• Ensure customer requirements are met through adherence to site quality procedures.
• Operate and maintain plant systems to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
• Record operating data, events, and spare usage in the plant logbook.
• Communicate plant conditions and work instructions to incoming personnel and manage work permits.
• Collect and verify production data, resolve discrepancies, and report to the Facility Manager.
• Execute routine tasks, start/stop/isolate equipment, and stay informed on plant modifications.

Required profile

• Knowledge of EH&S regulations and safety practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain industrial plant systems.
• Experience troubleshooting plant processes and documenting actions.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate logbook entries and data collection.
• Willingness to work on‑call and collaborate with site personnel.
