Senior Associate – Data Engineer Support (Azure)

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate to provide production support for its Azure‑based data platform. You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data pipelines, lakes, and warehouses while collaborating with analytics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and ADLS pipelines in production.
• Resolve data ingestion, transformation, and performance issues.
• Maintain ETL/ELT processes, data quality checks, and alerting mechanisms.
• Develop automation scripts using Python or PowerShell to improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident escalation.
• Document data workflows, configurations, and incident resolutions.
• Collaborate with data engineers and business stakeholders to address data discrepancies.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to reduce manual interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, platform operations or production support.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and incident‑management skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure Cloud services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
• SQL for data querying and debugging.
• Python and PowerShell for automation.
• DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts and data warehousing.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, Spark, Azure Event Hubs or Kafka is a plus.
