Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer II you will shape the way infrastructure is built, secured and operated across the Mondia platform. You will own the delivery experience for engineering teams, making pipelines, deployments and environments faster, safer and more autonomous.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain multi‑account AWS cloud infrastructure, including network topologies, service deployments and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) across multiple product lines with a focus on reliability, speed and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using OpenTofu/Terraform and AWS CDK/TypeScript, managing reusable modules and remote state.
• Define deployment standards such as blue/green, canary releases, rollbacks and environment promotion.
• Build and secure container platforms (Docker, AWS ECS) and ensure runtime hardening.
• Lead the observability platform (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana), design alerting, define SLOs and drive incident response.
• Design and implement disaster‑recovery plans, own RTO/RPO targets and verify recovery readiness.
• Enforce AWS security best practices, manage secrets, IAM policies and use GuardDuty, Security Hub and Config.
• Collaborate with development teams to shorten feedback loops and improve deployment predictability.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to maintain 99.9% platform availability.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience guiding and mentoring engineers.
• Strong automation mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, distributed environment.
• Clear communicator who can translate technical risk into business language.

Required skills

• AWS services (ECS, Aurora, CloudFront, FIS, Transit Gateway, VPN, FortiGate).
• Infrastructure as Code: OpenTofu/Terraform, AWS CDK, TypeScript.
• GitLab CI/CD – multi‑project pipelines, runners, artifacts at scale.
• Container technologies: Docker, AWS ECS (Kubernetes a plus).
• Scripting: Python, Shell.
• Observability tools: New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana.
• AWS security tooling: GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, IAM policy design.
• Disaster‑recovery design and implementation.
• Linux performance tuning and hardening.
