Senior Performance Testing Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Performance Testing Engineer to design, develop, and execute comprehensive performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability test scenarios. The role involves close collaboration with development, architecture, and DevOps teams to ensure systems meet performance expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability test scenarios.
• Create automated performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar.
• Establish test data, environments, and workload models based on real user behavior.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for performance issues and provide optimization recommendations.
• Analyze system metrics (CPU, memory, I/O, database, network) using APM tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
• Prepare detailed performance reports highlighting findings, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement actions.
• Benchmark system performance across releases and track performance KPIs over time.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and product teams to validate performance requirements and ensure system readiness.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews to provide performance‑related insights.
• Guide junior engineers on performance engineering best practices and tools.
• Recommend improvements to system design, database queries, API tuning, caching strategies, and infrastructure scaling.
• Support continuous performance monitoring and early detection of degradation in production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in performance testing and performance engineering.
• Strong experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar).
• Experience working with microservices, APIs, cloud environments, and distributed systems.
