Staff Data Scientist

About the role

Teradata is seeking a Staff (Principal) Data Scientist to act as a senior individual contributor. You will define analytical approaches, scope complex data‑science projects, and deliver high‑impact solutions for multiple industries without direct people‑management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Architect end‑to‑end data‑science workflows and tackle ambiguous, high‑complexity problems.
• Provide deep technical guidance to cross‑functional teams including data engineers, product managers and solution architects.
• Shape the technical direction of data‑science initiatives and influence solution design across projects.
• Translate complex business problems into well‑scoped analytical strategies and deliver scalable, reliable models.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data science, machine learning or applied analytics.
• Proven ability to work independently on challenging parts of engagements and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Strong statistical rigor and domain insight to drive measurable business value.
