Staff Software Engineer, Backend & Full Stack

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Backend & Full‑Stack) to join Procore’s Engineering team in Cairo. You will help shape the future of construction technology by building scalable SaaS solutions that serve millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend and full‑stack applications using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Java, React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Infrastructure and Platform teams to deliver customer‑centric features.
• Lead architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability and alignment with long‑term goals.
• Establish engineering best practices, drive cross‑functional technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, enforce test‑driven development, and ensure operational excellence on AWS and Kubernetes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong fundamentals and system design.
• Proven track record of building large‑scale platforms serving thousands of hosts and millions of users.
• Experience leading major technical initiatives and mentoring teams.

Required skills

• Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Java, React, TypeScript
• Python or Go (experience with similar languages)
• PostgreSQL, microservices architecture
• AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Test‑Driven Development
