Systems Engineer II

About the role

As a Systems Engineer II you will work closely with server, storage, application and virtualization architects to design, develop and implement IT solutions that meet performance and efficiency goals. You will collaborate with senior executives to align infrastructure strategies with business requirements and support remote sites with up to 25 % travel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and size physical servers across multiple vendors.
• Manage and size storage solutions from various vendors.
• Design and implement datacenter infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) and networking.
• Configure, troubleshoot and document Windows and Linux systems, Microsoft infrastructure, Active Directory and Veeam backup.
• Evaluate project BOQ and BOM, and produce high‑level and low‑level documentation.
• Monitor performance, diagnose issues and maintain network diagrams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, server and storage sizing, and datacenter design.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Windows and Linux administration.
• Microsoft infrastructure (MCSA, MCSE).
• Red Hat, VMware and Hyper‑V virtualization.
• CCNA networking certification.
• Firewalls, load balancers and anti‑virus devices.
• Active Directory and Veeam Backup expertise.
• CCTV and Access Control Systems basics.
