Underground Grade Control Technician

About the role

The Underground Grade Control Technician supports grade control geologists at Sukari Gold Mine, ensuring accurate sampling, drilling, and data collection under a strict QA/QC framework. The role involves logistical coordination, safety oversight, and hands‑on field work across rotating 20‑day on/10‑day off night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives: participate in toolbox talks, enforce procedures, report hazards, and maintain housekeeping.
• Maintain sampling integrity: follow procedures, prevent contamination, and ensure correct sample sequencing to the laboratory.
• Organise sampling logistics: prepare equipment, lay out samples each shift, and dispatch them promptly.
• Control drilling areas: install and backfill PVC pipes, mark zones to avoid traffic damage.
• Provide geological support: assist with face and floor mapping and RC hole logging.
• Manage crew transport and site logistics: drive crew to work areas and ensure availability of drilling consumables.

Required profile

• Technical school certificate.
• 1–3 years experience in mining sampling activities.
• Good knowledge of RC drilling, ore mining, and grade control drilling.
• Ability to perform basic numerical calculations using English numerals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s licence for light vehicle operation.
• Willingness to work a 20/10 roster with night shifts.
