About the role

The Academic Assistant for Nursing supports online nursing courses at Louisiana State University of Alexandria. Working closely with faculty, the assistant ensures students receive timely feedback and a high‑quality learning experience.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to student inquiries via email promptly.
• Grade assignments using established rubrics.
• Rate and moderate discussion forum contributions.
• Send weekly reminders and announcements to the class.
• Assist faculty in managing Moodle and publisher web sites for course delivery.
• Complete required LSUA trainings such as FERPA, sexual harassment, cybersecurity, and Moodle compliance.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Nursing (or higher).
• Active multi‑state RN license.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and supervisors.
• Willingness to stay current with university training requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Moodle or similar online learning platforms.
