Academic Assistant for Nursing

About the role
The Academic Assistant for Nursing supports online nursing courses at Louisiana State University of Alexandria. Working closely with faculty, the assistant ensures students receive timely feedback and a high‑quality learning experience.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to student inquiries via email promptly.
- Grade assignments using established rubrics.
- Rate and moderate discussion forum contributions.
- Send weekly reminders and announcements to the class.
- Assist faculty in managing Moodle and publisher web sites for course delivery.
- Complete required LSUA trainings such as FERPA, sexual harassment, cybersecurity, and Moodle compliance.
Required profile
- Master of Science in Nursing (or higher).
- Active multi‑state RN license.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and supervisors.
- Willingness to stay current with university training requirements.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Moodle or similar online learning platforms.
