Assistant Professor – Human Resource Management

About the role

The College of Business at Louisiana State University of Alexandria invites applications for a full‑time, nine‑month Assistant Professor or Instructor of Human Resource Management. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty team, teach undergraduate courses, and contribute to scholarship and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 12‑15 credit hours per semester in HRM, organizational behavior, employment law, compensation, talent management, training and related subjects.
• Develop and deliver student‑centered instruction in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
• Participate in curriculum planning, program review, and creation of applied learning opportunities such as internships and case competitions.
• Maintain an active scholarship program aligned with ACBSP expectations and support accreditation activities.
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, outreach, and career‑development initiatives.
• Engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service, including committee work and community partnerships.

Required profile

• MBA with at least 18 hours of upper‑level HR coursework.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, SPHR, GPHR).
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Preferred: Ph.D. or DBA in HRM, Management, I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a related discipline.
