Bid & Proposal Engineer – Electrical Projects

About the role

The Bid & Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing and developing technical and commercial proposals for electrical projects in Cairo. You will work closely with engineering, procurement and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop technical and commercial proposals for electrical projects in line with client specifications.
• Analyze tender documents, specifications and drawings to define project scope and key deliverables.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and project management to gather data for bid preparation.
• Estimate material, labour and equipment costs for electrical systems and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings, site visits and technical clarifications, and support contract negotiations with value‑engineering inputs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in electrical bids, proposals or tendering within engineering or construction.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documents.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Experience with engineering software for proposal preparation (e.g., CAD, cost‑estimation tools).
• Knowledge of electrical systems and components.
