Bone Marrow Transplant Consultant – Kenya

About the role

The Department of Haemato‑Oncology is seeking an experienced Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Consultant to establish and expand a world‑class transplant service in Nairobi. This senior position combines clinical excellence with program leadership and strategic development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and manage a comprehensive BMT programme serving a large patient population.
• Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care for autologous and allogeneic transplants.
• Lead multidisciplinary clinical teams and coordinate with outreach centres in Kenya and Uganda.
• Drive research initiatives, clinical trials and educational activities.

Required profile

• MD (or equivalent) with board certification in Hematology/Oncology.
• Formal fellowship training in Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Minimum 3 years post‑fellowship clinical experience in BMT.
• Proven expertise in autologous, allogeneic, haploidentical and MUD procedures.
• Strong academic record with publications and trial involvement.
• Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary environments.
