Business Development Manager – Rice (Cairo)

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Cairo and focuses on expanding the rice export business across the Egyptian market. You will work independently within a lean export team, driving market development, acquiring new customers and strengthening existing buyer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cold calling, email outreach and social media engagement to generate new buyer leads.
• Identify and target Egyptian markets for both branded and private‑label rice.
• Generate leads through trade data analysis, digital directories, exhibitions and referrals.
• Negotiate prices, terms and contracts to convert leads into sales.
• Maintain strong buyer relationships to secure repeat and additional orders.
• Track metrics such as call volume, lead status and conversion rates.
• Oversee the full order cycle from booking to dispatch and delivery.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of business development or export/import sales experience in the rice industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
• Proven experience in consultative sales within FMCG companies.
• Strong understanding of rice value chains, global trade dynamics and emerging market trends.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
