Buyer II – Procurement (Manufacturing & Oil & Gas)

About the role

The Buyer II supports the procurement function for manufacturing and oil & gas operations, ensuring the right materials and equipment are sourced at the best price, quality, and delivery terms. The role works closely with cross‑functional teams to keep production flowing smoothly while managing inventory and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain optimal material flow from suppliers to manufacturing or distribution sites in line with the operations plan.
• Review requisitions and select vendors based on price, delivery performance, and quality criteria.
• Develop bid lists, prepare bid packages, and evaluate vendor quotations.
• Provide procurement recommendations and support sourcing category managers with cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Monitor purchase price variance and take corrective actions to mitigate cost inflation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, local laws, and standard terms and conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in metals, machining, MRO or indirect services.
• Familiarity with commodity markets, MRP planning, and inventory management principles.
• Ability to evaluate lot‑size economics and optimize inventory levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of APICS or ISM certifications (highly desirable).
• Lean/Six Sigma methodology awareness.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
