Commis I – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

A full-time Commis I position at the Rixos Radamis hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The role covers food preparation and kitchen support under the guidance of the duty manager.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare potentially hazardous foods at the correct temperature according to HACCP guidelines.
• Check the quality of food items and notify the manager if a product does not meet specifications.
• Carry out quality management and food safety management system tasks.
• Assist the duty manager with tasks assigned by him or her.
• Report equipment failures or problems to the maintenance department.
• Take part in training and development schemes recommended by senior management.
• Eliminate and collect waste properly, reduce pollution and help save energy in the facility.
• Follow company and hotel rules, maintain a good company image and inter-departmental relations, and carry out other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• At least a high school or vocational diploma.
• Ability to learn the job within three years and perform duties at the expected level.
• Prior attendance in related trainings is an advantage.
• Foreign language and computer literacy are not required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of and ability to use kitchen products, equipment and non-standard tools and devices related to the job.
• Good social skills, courtesy and a pleasant manner.
