Cost Control Team Leader

About the role

The Cost Control Team Leader will head a group of senior cost controllers, ensuring accurate budgeting, cost planning, productivity tracking, cash‑flow management and financial analysis across multiple projects. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on support to maintain project profitability and financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Implement all department procedures and manuals for project cost control.
• Review project budgets and coordinate the issuance of original budgets with team members and stakeholders.
• Lead cost control staff to reflect scope changes and issue monthly updated budgets.
• Audit monthly cost reports, highlight critical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor cost plans, identify major deviations and trigger necessary actions.
• Audit invoice status and work with relevant parties to resolve outstanding items.
• Prepare cash‑flow analyses and related reports as required.
• Issue monthly productivity reports and suggest improvement areas.
• Assist the Cost Control Manager in identifying, assessing and maintaining a cost risk register.
• Lead preparation of project cost close‑out reports and provide feedback to all parties.
• Evaluate resource efficiency, highlight deviations and propose corrective measures to project management.
• Provide cost analysis for variation orders and claims.
• Recommend cost‑mitigation plans to preserve project profitability.
• Support and develop senior cost controllers and cost engineers in line with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, risk assessments and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional certification such as PMP, PRMG or CCE is preferred.
• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.
• Very good command of English.
