Deputy Operations Manager – Egypt

About the role

Intrepid Travel is seeking a Deputy Operations Manager based in Cairo to support the Operations Manager in delivering safe, profitable, and high‑quality group trips across Egypt. You will act as the operational backbone, ensuring day‑to‑day logistics run smoothly while upholding the company’s Service Level Agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on operational and managerial support to the Operations Manager.
• Coordinate on‑the‑ground logistics for group tours, including transport, accommodation, and local guides.
• Resolve operational issues quickly and make independent decisions to keep trips on schedule.
• Coach and support tour leaders and local teams, ensuring they follow Intrepid’s responsible travel standards.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of tourism ground operations in Egypt and the Middle East.
• Experience as a Group Leader or in a similar operational role within the travel industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Swahili is a plus.
• Passion for travel, high organisational ability, and a customer‑service mindset.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to shifting priorities.
