Early Years Teaching Assistant (EL2)

About the role

Inspired Education is recruiting a caring, enthusiastic and proactive Early Years Teaching Assistant for King's School The Crown, part of its EL2 team, working with children aged 1-2. The school is located in The Crown, a prestigious gated community in 6th October City, and welcomes children from 18 months to 18 years. The assistant works closely with the class teacher to create a warm, safe and nurturing environment where toddlers feel secure and happy.

Key responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, child-centred play-based learning.
• Work with individuals and small groups through songs, stories, sensory play and simple activities to support early communication and development.
• Help create and maintain a safe, stimulating, well-organised and welcoming classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and social development through gentle, nurturing approaches.
• Support children with daily routines such as snack and mealtimes, nappy changing, toileting, rest time and settling in.
• Assist in observing, recording and sharing children's progress with teaching staff, and support children with additional needs where required.
• Supervise children during play, outdoor time, mealtimes and school events, ensuring their safety.
• Help prepare learning materials, classroom displays and resources, and contribute to routines, transitions and day-to-day organisation.
• Uphold safeguarding, behaviour and child protection policies at all times.

Required profile

• Relevant experience working with young children, ideally in a nursery, early years or school setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and professional conduct expectations in schools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
• A warm, patient and proactive approach, with an understanding of how to support toddlers' behaviour and engagement through gentle, consistent routines.
• Flexibility and a collaborative mindset, willing to support a range of classroom and school activities.
• Ability to support learning in group and one-to-one settings, including positive behaviour guidance and classroom management.
• Experience in an international or diverse school environment is desirable.
