Group Legal & Compliance Director

About the role

The Group Legal & Compliance Director is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the CEO. The role defines and safeguards Tagaddod’s global legal, regulatory and governance framework, ensuring full compliance while enabling commercial agility across all jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the principal legal advisor to the CEO and Board, shaping legal strategy aligned with growth, capital and exit plans.
• Provide clear, actionable guidance on high‑impact decisions, balancing risk and commercial outcomes.
• Build and lead a group‑wide compliance framework across all geographies, covering sustainability certifications (e.g., ISCC EU, CORSIA), trade, customs, sanctions, export/import regulations, EHS requirements and data‑privacy laws.
• Act as the primary interface with regulators, certification bodies and external auditors.
• Establish and maintain best‑in‑class corporate governance practices, overseeing board governance, documentation, shareholder matters and delegation of authority frameworks.
• Own the legal and compliance components of enterprise risk management, identifying regulatory, contractual, reputational and strategic risks and reporting them to the CEO and Board.
• Oversee high‑value contracts—including feedstock supply, logistics, JV and investment agreements—ensuring robust legal positioning on Incoterms, risk allocation and liability.
• Lead dispute, arbitration and litigation strategy, manage claims, conduct internal investigations and enforce remediation actions.
• Define and enforce the Code of Conduct, anti‑bribery frameworks and whistle‑blower mechanisms to embed an ethics‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Senior legal professional with extensive experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.
• Proven track record advising CEOs and Boards on strategic legal matters.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement global compliance programmes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience handling complex commercial contracts and cross‑border trade structures.
• Strong understanding of sustainability certification schemes and environmental regulations.
• Ability to lead investigations, manage disputes and enforce ethics and anti‑corruption policies.
• High degree of independence, authority and business partnership mindset.
