Junior Bridge Engineer

About the role

e.construct is a fast-growing engineering design firm with 7 offices worldwide, offering structural, MEP, geotechnical and value engineering services. It designs bridges, high-rise buildings, commercial facilities, precast concrete and post-tensioning. This full-time Junior Bridge Engineer position in Cairo involves assisting in the structural design of bridge projects under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the structural design of bridge projects, including concrete, steel and composite bridges.
• Perform basic structural analyses under supervision, including load calculations, modeling and design checks.
• Review and validate drawings, models and calculations to ensure compliance with bridge design codes (AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes, etc.).
• Support the preparation of technical reports, design briefs and presentations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, MEP, architectural, construction) to ensure design integration.
• Learn and apply advanced bridge design software and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 1-3 years of bridge design experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn from senior engineers.

Required skills

• Proficiency or familiarity with bridge design software such as MIDAS Civil, LUSAS, SAP2000 or CSI Bridge.
• Basic understanding of international bridge design codes (AASHTO LRFD, BS 5400, Eurocodes).
