Legal and Regulatory Advisor for Digital Asset Tokenization

About the role

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) seeks an experienced legal and regulatory consultant to guide the tokenization of nature‑based water solution assets across Jordan, Egypt, and Palestine. The consultant will assess feasibility, design compliant token structures, and build internal capacity to engage investors and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the legal and regulatory environment for digital asset tokenization in the target jurisdictions.
• Identify assets suitable for tokenization and outline potential benefits and incentives.
• Develop a business model, roadmap, and risk framework for a pilot token issuance.
• Provide actionable guidance on structuring compliant digital‑asset instruments in line with national laws and international frameworks.
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer to IWMI staff on regulator and investor engagement.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in law, finance, or a related field with proven expertise in digital assets.
• Demonstrated experience advising on blockchain‑based tokenization projects.
• Familiarity with impact‑investment mechanisms and environmental asset finance.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to produce clear, actionable recommendations.
