Legal & Contract Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Legal & Contract Specialist to lead end‑to‑end contract management and support legal operations across the organization. The role ensures contracts are compliant, risks are mitigated, and stakeholders receive clear legal guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, negotiation, execution, amendment, renewal and termination.
• Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements (e.g., CBE, NTRA, data protection, labor law) and internal policies; maintain standardized templates and playbooks.
• Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, SLAs, penalties and renewal dates, providing timely actions and compliance reporting.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and contractual risks; escalate high‑risk clauses with clear recommendations.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing contract documentation, risk assessments and compliance evidence.
• Assist the Legal & Corporate Governance Senior Manager with daily legal operations, track requests, coordinate external counsel and maintain an organized legal repository.
• Act as the primary liaison between Legal and business functions (Account Management, Operations, Finance, Procurement, IT), offering contractual guidance during negotiations.
• Develop and improve contract management processes, approval workflows and governance controls.
• Prepare periodic reports on contract status, risks, renewals, disputes and provide insights to senior management.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience in contract management or corporate legal functions.
• Law degree (Faculty of Law); English‑section education preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (CBE, NTRA, data protection, labor law).
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and external counsel.
