Mechanical Design Engineer – Firefighting & Plumbing

About the role

The role involves creating detailed mechanical drawings for firefighting and plumbing systems while coordinating with multiple departments. You will work on‑site in Cairo, reporting progress to senior engineers and ensuring compliance with current codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical drawings and coordinate with other departments, following professional drawing standards and symbols.
• Collaborate with senior and fellow engineers to develop alternatives and options for project development.
• Report progress of assigned tasks to the head of department and implement mechanical engineering works according to project programs.
• Organise and supervise draftsmen, providing support and advice to project teams.
• Verify that all designs, drawings, and documents meet current codes and standards.
• Produce complex drawings, charts, and bills of materials for major installations.
• Generate drawings and bills of materials while meeting design‑to‑cost targets.
• Handle design change requests promptly and maintain project calculation documents on the server for traceability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in engineering consultancy offices.
• Strong command of English and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Revit and related design software.
