National Project Officer – Joint Platform

About the role

The National Project Officer will support the coordination and implementation of the IOM‑UN joint programme in Egypt. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Head of the Protection Unit, the role ensures that project activities align with IOM policies, donor requirements, and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and monitoring operational, administrative and financial aspects of the project.
• Provide regular status updates to supervisors, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in developing work plans, budgets, monitoring & evaluation tools and SOPs.
• Coordinate data collection, verification and analysis; update information management systems and social media platforms with project‑related content.
• Prepare and disseminate timely project reports in line with IOM procedures and donor guidelines.
• Liaise with donors, UN agencies, local authorities, government counterparts and other stakeholders.
• Support the planning and delivery of capacity‑building activities for IOM staff, government officials and civil‑society partners.

Required profile

• University degree in international development, public administration, social sciences or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in project coordination within humanitarian, migration or UN contexts.
• Familiarity with UN and donor reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
