Outage Manager - Steam Turbines

About the role

We are seeking a senior Outage Manager to lead steam turbine outage programmes across our facilities in the Middle East. The role combines technical expertise with leadership to ensure safe, on‑time and cost‑effective execution of large‑scale turbine shutdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and supervise a team of Outage Managers.
• Provide technical leadership and act as subject‑matter expert for steam turbine outages.
• Oversee end‑to‑end outage planning, including scope definition and resource allocation.
• Review and validate outage execution strategies, work packs and risk‑mitigation plans.
• Ensure all outages are executed in line with HSSE standards and quality benchmarks.
• Monitor outage performance, schedules, risks and cost deviations.
• Support resolution of complex technical and operational challenges.
• Drive budget planning, cost control and resource optimisation.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, customers, OEMs and vendors.
• Oversee post‑outage reporting and capture performance insights.
• Track and analyse outage metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
• Build team capability through coaching, performance management and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation, industrial maintenance or rotating equipment services.
• Proven experience in steam turbine outage management within an OEM or leading industry organisation.
• Demonstrated leadership managing large outage teams or multiple concurrent projects.
• Hands‑on experience in outage execution in a site or shift‑leadership role.
