Pharmacist – Community Pharmacy (Cairo)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time, on‑site Pharmacist to join Youssef Fady Pharmacy in Cairo, Egypt. The successful candidate will dispense prescription and OTC medications, verify prescriptions, and review patient histories to prevent drug interactions. You will also provide counseling and collaborate with prescribers to optimise therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescription and over‑the‑counter medications.
• Verify prescriptions and review patient medication histories for interactions or contraindications.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, dosage, side effects and storage.
• Coordinate with prescribers to clarify orders and suggest therapeutic alternatives.
• Manage medication inventory, monitor expiration dates and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Maintain compliance with Egyptian pharmacy laws, regulations and professional standards.
• Keep the pharmacy environment clean, organized and patient‑focused.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist (or eligible for licensure) with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions and dosage calculations.
• Excellent communication and patient‑counselling abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to ethical, confidential practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy community pharmacy setting.
• Previous experience in community or hospital pharmacy is preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and point‑of‑sale (POS) software.
• Experience using electronic health records or digital prescription platforms.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory management.
