Professor / Associate Professor – Civil Law (CILA)

About the role

The German University in Cairo (GUC) is recruiting full‑time academic staff for its Program of Law and Legal Studies, commencing September 2026. The position is open to candidates qualified to serve as Professor or Associate Professor in Civil Law (CILA), teaching undergraduate students and contributing to the department’s scholarly activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses covering Civil Law Theory, History of Legal and Social Systems in Egypt, International and Intellectual Property Rights, and Social Insurance Law.
• Prepare and update teaching materials, design seminars, and supervise student projects.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum development and research initiatives.
• Participate in academic committees and represent the university in professional legal forums.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Law with a proven record of teaching at the university level.
• Strong publication and research background in civil law or related fields.
• Relevant industry or consulting experience is desirable.
• Active involvement in the legal community through memberships, consulting, or publications.
