Professor of Agricultural Economics – Hybrid (Cairo)

About the role

The Desert Research Center – DRC is seeking a full‑time hybrid Professor of Agricultural Economics based in Cairo. You will join a research‑focused institution dedicated to sustainable development in arid and semi‑arid regions, teaching at the university level and advancing scholarly work.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, emphasizing agricultural applications.
• Conduct research in microeconomics, macroeconomics and international economics as they relate to agricultural industries and policies.
• Mentor and guide students, supervising theses and projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues on scholarly projects addressing challenges in agricultural economics and sustainable development.
• Contribute to curriculum development for specialized economics programs.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of economics, including micro‑, macro‑ and international economics.
• Expertise in statistical methods and quantitative analysis.
• Proven university teaching experience and curriculum development skills.
• Track record of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Excellent communication, mentoring and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with research in arid or semi‑arid regions is highly desirable.
